RC / RLC filter

Low-pass, high-pass or band-pass, from R, C and (for band-pass) L. A Bode magnitude and phase plot on a log frequency axis, the step response in the time domain, and the nearest E24 value for each part.

Topology

Values

Assumptions and limits. Ideal, lossless components - no ESR on the capacitor, no winding resistance or self-capacitance on the inductor, no source or load impedance loading the filter. The frequency response is the same complex voltage-divider algebra for all three topologies (impedance of each part at jω, then a divider), and the step response is a fixed-step RK4 integration of the circuit's own state equations rather than a separately-typed closed form, so a transcription mistake in one cannot silently disagree with the other. Cutoff is checked against 1/(2πRC) and -3 dB at that frequency in the test suite. E-series hints are nearest-by-ratio, not "in stock anywhere."
