House rules [ short ]
- Numbers beat adjectives. "It got hot" is a feeling; "82 °C case temp at 14 A after 90 s" is a measurement someone can act on.
- Post the failure. The part that burned out is more useful than the part that worked.
- Name the part. Manufacturer part number and where you bought it, or it cannot be reproduced.
- Say what you did not check. An honest gap is worth more than a confident guess.
